The OMI Story

America's First Organic Sleep Products Manufacturer, Since 2003

Our Story

OMI was established in 2003, in Northern California. We began as the exclusive mattress-manufacturing partner to Lifekind® - America's oldest, family-owned, certified organic and natural household products catalog. Over the years, as demand for organic grew, we developed the OrganicPedic® brand and partnered with retailers across the country to provide their customers with the choice to Sleep Organic!®

Later, we began to sell factory-direct and also opened our factory operation to other brands – including certain popular online brands – who share our commitment to certified organic sleep.

Today we offer more than 100 certified organic products including mattresses, "top-of-bed" products and more across multiple brands.

Our Many "Firsts"

In 2008, we manufactured the first mattress to be certified to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).

In 2013, we manufactured the first mattress to be certified to the Global Organic Latex (GOLS) standard.

In 2015, an organic mattress we manufactured was the first to achieve GREENGUARD Gold certification – Underwriter's Laboratory ("UL's") highest standard for low product emissions, VOCs and indoor pollutants.

In 2023, our mattresses became the first to achieve SCS' Indoor Advantage Gold Certification for low indoor emissions.

A Cut Above...

We are proud of our more than 20-years building America's finest certified organic sleep products. Why are our goods a cut above the rest? It's our commitment to quality, organic integrity and comfort.
